| The Allerair Standard Pre-Filter is designed to trap larger dust particles. It can be removed and replaced every two to three months with a new Pre-Filter or some people prefer to extend the Pre-Filter's life by removing and cleaning it more regularly with a vacuum cleaner. The Pre-Filter acts to stop the larger particles such as dust and lint from clogging the other filters. The Tar-Trapping Pre-Filters may be used in place of the Standard Pre-Filter and they have an added coating that helps capture more tar from cigarette smoke (we recommend that the Tar-Trapping Pre-Filters be replaced rather cleaned and reused).
