The Blueair Model 402 can use either the Dust & Pollen filter or the Smokestop filter. The Model 402 uses only one replacement filter and this filter needs to be changed every six months.

The Model 402 uses one standard HEPASilent™ filter made of polypropylene (traps particles), or one enhanced Smokestop HEPASilent™ filter made of polypropylene (with equal particle efficiency), including activated carbon for better smoke and gas removal.
